Since 1967, Grand Old Fourth has brought together generations of Bainbridge Island residents, businesses, nonprofits, and visitors in a celebration of community, tradition, and hometown pride. What began as a modest local Fourth of July gathering has grown into the island's largest annual community event, drawing thousands of attendees each year while maintaining the welcoming, small-town spirit that makes Bainbridge Island unique.

For nearly six decades, the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce has proudly produced and presented Grand Old Fourth, working alongside hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, community organizations, and local leaders to bring the celebration to life. What started with a parade and a handful of community activities has evolved into a beloved tradition featuring live entertainment, a street fair, family activities, a pancake breakfast, a classic car show, and the iconic hometown parade that winds through downtown Winslow each Independence Day.

Over the years, Grand Old Fourth has become much more than a holiday celebration. It serves as an annual gathering place where neighbors reconnect, local organizations showcase their work, businesses engage with the community, and families create lasting memories together. Many island residents can remember attending as children and later returning with children and grandchildren of their own, making the event a tradition shared across generations.
